Job brief

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a talented and proactive GIS Front-end Web Developer to join our team and contribute to the advancement of our existing web GIS Dashboard. As a crucial member of our development team, you will be responsible for the following:

• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and requirements for enhancing the web GIS Dashboard.
• Effectively briefing higher management on project progress, updates, and potential roadblocks.
• Playing a key role in the design and implementation of new features and functionalities that enhance the capabilities of the web GIS interactive application.
• Collaborating with back-end developers and other stakeholders to seamlessly integrate APIs and data sources into the application.
• Conducting thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the highest level of application performance.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency and Experience in JavaScript and front-end libraries/frameworks, particularly React or Preact.
• Experience with API integration to seamlessly connect the web GIS Dashboard with external data sources.
• Familiarity with Maplibre and other GIS mapping libraries for creating interactive maps and optimizing application performance.
• Proficiency in Tailwind CSS or similar CSS frameworks for efficient and responsive UI development is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize application performance.
• Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (applicants with a Master’s degree will be preferred).
• Demonstrated experience as a Front-end Developer with a focus on GIS and interactive web applications.
• A portfolio of past projects showcasing your GIS front-end development skills and interactive application enhancements.
• Strong understanding of GIS principles and concepts, particularly related to interactive mapping.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.
